Testimonials

I had a working experience with Kandice when she took up an internship in our company City Credit Capital UK Limited, a regulated financial services firm in London in November 2016 during her winter break in her first year in college in the U.K. Upon completion of the work experience internship, she sent us a 13 pages report - the “Investigative Case Study” to document her experience with the company. In this study, she was able to outline the business structure of the company and the products it dealt with in fairly accurate details. She analysed and evaluated the structure of the company including the management structure and the roles played by each of the divisions. I was really impressed by her attention to details and her broad insights into the operation of the company and its business, especially from a young lady at her first year in college.  I can also see how much effort she put into her writing when I looked into the references she quoted at the end of her report.  She had read through a lot of reference material to substantiate what she wrote. That is really amazing! Since after her internship, I have had several gatherings with her during her term breaks in London and have watched her grow with more confidence and social integrity. I am specifically impressed by her ability to be humble, even sometimes a little competitive and self-criticism. I can see Kandice evolving into a very confident and professional leader in any business field she will choose to take up in her future career.”

— Alfred Tang (CEO of City Credit Capital London)

Kandice joined Falmouth University to study the BA (Hons) Creative Events Management degree in September 2016 and has been a very valuable addition to the institution since that time.

Kandice has a number of strengths to offer including her dedication, diligence, enthusiasm and positivity. I have always found that Kandice is able to motivate herself in order to produce work that is of an excellent standard. Kandice has an excellent eye for attention to detail and always presents work to a professional standard.

The BA (Hons) Creative Events Management degree programme includes a balance of practical work (such as live events) together with the production of professional industry standard written documentation (such as event plans) and academic writing (such as the dissertation). Kandice has been able to excel in all three of these aspects. I was fortunate enough to supervise Kandice’s dissertation (focusing on retail tourism in Hong Kong) and Kandice was always dedicated, motivated and professional.

Kandice has also shown that she is committed to ongoing personal and professional development and has taken part in a wide range of assessed and non-assessed events and CPD activity whilst at Falmouth.

I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Kandice for a place on a Master’s degree or employment and I am confident that she has a very successful future ahead of her.

— Paul Russell (Senior Lecturer: Business and Experience Design at Falmouth University )

Kandice worked under my direct supervision as a Project Assistant for her internship from June to August 2018.  Judging from her performance on teamwork with me and my employees, she is one of the most talented and passionate person. During her internship, she was assigned to handle investment projects in Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar.  Her main responsibilities were to carry out research and analysis on the investment opportunities, and to follow up with our global business partners and clients.  She also assisted me on the daily operations of asset management and fund operations. Kandice is an intelligent, ingenious, and solution-oriented person who always picks up projects quickly and gets things done efficiently.  She has a strong business sense and solid foundation in business concept.  She is often able to come up with new and resourceful approaches to her assigned projects, even though the projects cover an industry that is unfamiliar to her. On the interpersonal side, Kandice has excellent written and verbal communication skills.  She gets along perfectly well with her team members and colleagues from different departments, who are much more experienced than her.  She is greatly respected, both as a person and a professional, by peer group and senior management. I would strongly recommend her for any position that she decides to pursue, and I know she will be valuable to your organisation.

— Paul Chan (Executive Director of NSC Capital Pte Ltd. Singapore)

Kandice is very intelligent. She consistently proved to be a most diligent student, demonstrating a deep understanding of the operational elements of event design alongside the many creative aspects therein. Kandice threw herself into her assigned practical and written projects wholeheartedly, and showed every sign of having real talent as an event manager for the future.  I discovered that she has well defined career goals that mesh with the projects she worked on, evidenced by her high degree of enthusiasm for a variety of events and roles within any industry. Kandice is exceptionally diligent and hard working. She has consistently worked many extra hours over her academic years. Kandice invariably finished projects well in advance of our projected submission dates, and Kandice was always cheerful during this intense period, and a genuine pleasure to have on the course. Kandice is very good at working with other people. She is considerate and sensitive, but also assertive in her decision-making and problem solving.  Kandice is not only good-humoured and friendly, but also is good at gauging other people's level of knowledge and attitudes. All in all, I think Kandice has a very bright future, and I am sure that she would benefit from working in your organisation. Given her great intelligence and sensitivity, I am sure that she could put any opportunity that you can provide to good use.

On Thursday 12 April, 2018, a group of Creative Events Management students from Falmouth University hosted a ‘Dinner in the Dark’ experience in aid of iSightCornwall. Dark dining takes place in a dark restaurant, where the diners are unable to see the food that they are eating. Dark dining aims to give sighted diners the experience of dining as a visually impaired person. As part of their course, the Creative Events Management students were given the task of creating an event that would benefit the local community. After much brainstorming the group came up with the idea of a ‘Dinner in the Dark’ experience inspired by a similar concept ‘Dialogue in the Dark’which takes place in Singapore. The group approached us with their idea as they wished to collaborate with a local sight loss charity to raise awareness of sight loss in Falmouth and the surrounding areas. We were delighted with the idea and knew that the event had the potential to be a huge success. After months of planning and hard work, the event took place at the Dracaena Centre in Falmouth to a sold-out crowd. The evening involved a two-course sustainable dinner and live music from local musician ‘Hannigan’ and a small talk from us on sight loss and the services available to visually impaired people in Cornwall. We would like to say a huge thank you to the Dinner in the Dark team for their support and hard work in planning the event, we are sure that you all have a bright career in the events management industry.
